Uninsured Carrier Cargo Claims: Collection Approaches
You, the 3PL, have to pay your customer for a valid cargo claim. Whether because of the terms of your contract with the shipper or for purely customer management purposes. But the carrier--and the carrier’s insurance--will not pay or respond to the claim. This session discusses some possible approaches to the collection of a freight claim on an uninsured basis and some things you can do as a broker to position yourself to mitigate your losses.
