The Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) Program Offers Transportation & Freight Brokerage Professionals the Highest Broker Certification That Exists in the Industry & Is the Most Widely Recognized Designation Among 3PLs. Incorporating the CTB into Your Employee Development & Training Plans Expresses the Investment in Your Team & for the Service Commitment to Your Customers. The Online Study Course (OSC) is offered to help individuals study and prepare for the exam. This course is an intensive four-month online program that utilizes a textbook and online materials to provide a structured review process. All of the material, minus that covered in Foundations of Business, 5th edition, is available in the OSC. The Online Study Course is offered prior to each scheduled exam.
The OSC is not a substitute for the exam. It is designed to provide a guided view of the appropriate material that the exam will cover. Candidates can take online practice exams to assess their understanding of the material. Answers will not be sent out to candidates for review in order to ensure the integrity of the CTB Exam. There are separate fees for the OSC and exam. Please make sure you sign up for all three sections of the exam if this is your first attempt at becoming a CTB. If you plan to use the textbook from previous candidates, be sure to check with TIA to make sure you have the appropriate editions of the textbook being used. Currently, Foundations of Business, 5th edition, by Pride, Hughes and Kapoor is the correct textbook.
Required Textbook (separate purchase required): The textbook, Foundations of Business, 5th Edition, is available new, used or as a rental in a variety of formats including hardback, paperback, and e-book. Only the 5th edition book is currently approved for this class.
Once the course has opened on April 24, your first task to complete is the CTB Pre-Requisite Test:
If you are registering prior to the start date of April 24: Following the start date, you must complete two (2) attempts at passing the pre-requisite test by 12:00am ET Saturday, April 29th, 2023. Those who do not complete two attempts at the pre-requisite exam within 5 days of registering for the course will be removed from the course and refunded the registration fee minus the non-refundable fee.
If you are registering after the Start Date of April 24: You must complete two (2) attempts at passing the pre-requisite test within five (5) days of registering for the course. Those who do not complete two attempts at the pre-requisite exam within 5 days of registering for the course will be removed from the course and refunded the registration fee minus the non-refundable fee.
